Ashcroft Scared By Live 8 Comeback

Richard Ashcroft was terrified by the response he got when he played the London leg of Live 8 this summer - because he never thought his songs would last so long.

The Drugs Don't Work hitmaker was astonished by the enthusiastic reception when he joined rock superstars Coldplay to perform his old band's
famous ballad Bitter Sweet Symphony.

The gig, which was viewed by millions on TV
around the world, marked the comeback of The rock star after nearly four years out of the limelight.

He says, "The reaction after Live 8 scared me. Postmen have started shouting my name at me again.

"But it made me realise the extent to which my songs are lodged in people's minds."
